Rystrom was appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the five-membet PERB board in August 2007. She becamwe chair in February 2009. The board enforceds collective bargaining laws that cover more than 2 millionbCalifornia public-sector employees. It also rules on challengexs to decisions issuedby PERB’e general counsel and administrative law judges. “Tiffany Rystromk capped a distinguished career by channeling her passiojn for the law intopublic service,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement following her death. “She raisee the bar on quality, integrity and consistency with the Rystrom entered the legal field afte six years in advertisingand marketing.
She started in 1977 as judiciall clerk in the California Courtgof Appeal. She went on to become deputg district attorney in Marin County before moving to the Office of the California Attorney General and intoprivate practice. She is survivedd by her long-time partner, California Labor CommissioneeAngela Bradstreet.
